TotalEnergies Signs 1 GW Solar Deal With Google in Texas, Expands Renewable Footprint
TotalEnergies SE has inked a landmark 15-year power purchase agreement to supply Google with 1 gigawatt of solar capacity for its Texas data centers. The deal, the French energy giant's largest U.S. renewable PPA, will deliver approximately 28 terawatt-hours of clean electricity from two solar farms set to break ground in Q2 2026.
The Wichita and Mustang Creek projects, with 805 MW and 195 MW peak capacity respectively, position TotalEnergies as a key energy supplier to power-hungry data centers amid AI-driven electricity demand surges. TTE shares edged 0.79% higher to $73.83 on announcement, reflecting market approval of the strategic MOVE into renewable infrastructure.
